Inez is teaming up to help raise money for the New Mexico chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We will be doing this through the Flash 48 Pennies for Patients program. Each teacher will have an individual online fundraising page where people can go to donate to this worthy cause. The Flash 48 Pennies for Patients fundraiser will take place the weekend of November 18th and 19th. Just a quick 48 hours to help out by making an online donation that will go directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. More information will be coming home soon. Let’s work together to help out!

August 2017

Dear Inez ES parents,

My name is Paula Currier and I am excited about teaching elementary music for the 2017-2018

school year here at Inez ES.

I have over 23 years experience teaching elementary music, including 5 years with APS.

Some of the concepts and skills addressed will include keeping a steady beat, singing, playing a variety of

classroom instruments, matching pitch, moving, listening, creating

and improvising, with an emphasis on learning the fun way.

My goal is to expose the students to a variety of multicultural musical experiences to broaden their

understanding of world music.

Music supports reading, math, social studies, critical thinking skills, and several other subject areas.

Please take time to ask your child what they learned in music each week.

Encourage your child to sing you a song, and allow them opportunities to listen different styles of music.

Please feel free to attend your child’s music class, either to participate or observe.

Just let me know ahead of time through the school office.

If you need to contact me, please email me at paula.currier@aps.edu.

I look forward to working with your children this year.

Thank you,

Paula Currier
